The White House Use Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” in TikTok

The White House’s official TikTok account posted a patriotic video of the president Donald Trump and his administration — not unusual, except that it was largely based on and soundtracked by Taylor SwiftNo. 1 hit, “Ophelia’s fate.”

The president has been in public anti-Swift earlier in the past, posting on Truth Social earlier this summer: “Has anyone noticed that since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?'” His negative commentary began shortly after Swift endorsed Kamala Harris in September during the 2024 presidential race.

At the time, Swift had already called out Trump for previously using a fake photo of her to make it look like she was endorsing him instead. Trump warned that Swift’s music sales would suffer because of her endorsement, though that turned out to be false.

Trump’s last public comment about Swift came after she and NFL star Travis Kelce announced their engagement. Trump called Kelce a “great player” and Swift an “amazing person.”

“Well, I wish them the best of luck,” Trump said in August. “He’s a great player, and I think he’s a great guy, and I think she’s a great person, so I wish them the best of luck.”

In her approval of Harris, Swift wrote that the former vice president is “fighting for the rights and things that I think take a warrior to fight for. I think she’s a solid, talented leader and I think we can accomplish so much more in this country if we’re led by calm and not chaos.”

Responds to AmountAsked for comment, a White House official said: “We made this video because we were aware of brands of fake news outlets that Amount would breathlessly reinforce them. Congratulations, you’ve played.”

Representatives for Swift did not immediately return calls Amounts request for comment.
