How do you follow a mega-all-stars tribute as the inevitable Ozzy Osbourne was received in England In July? VMAS chose its seats by hiring a couple of suitable, generation-exciting singers-aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and British young gun Yungblud – And with a focus on three hits.
The tribute started with a video of Osbourne’s son Jack surrounded by four of Ozzy’s grandchildren and said “I know for sure (this tribute) would make him extremely happy.” And then all five family members united to scream, “and with the words in our dad,” let’s go crazy! ”
Yungblud channeled Ozzy with impressive force, especially on the opening song, “Crazy Train.” But after playing most of the song, the band shifted Gears and moving into the only Black Sabbath song performed during the tribute, Ballad “Changes in 1972.” The song naturally switched to the inevitable closer, “Mama I’m Coming Home”, which contained a fantastic performance from 77-year-old Tyler, accompanied by Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry. Yungblud joined the couple in front of the stage for the last choir while Perry peeled off a solo.
The Black Sabbath singer died at the age of 76 on July 22, just a few weeks after his final performance at All-Star “Back To Begin” concert in his native Birmingham, UK, he had recovered from several spinal operations and his ongoing battle with Parkinson’s disease.
After Osbourne death, Aerosmith said in a statement that they were “heartbroken” to hear that “our brother in stone, Ozzy Osbourne. A voice that changed music forever. ”
Yungblud paid his respect on a service that highlighted the mentoring he received from Osbourne. He published photos of the moment that Yungblud presented Osbourne with a cross -half that he had tailored and returned a gesture, since Osbourne had previously gifted him a similar jewelry from his neck. Osbourne also appeared in Yungblud’s music video “The Funeral” with his wife, Sharon, in September 2022.
