Selma Blair speaks skin care and trust

Selma Blair has been a Hollywood’s pillars since the late 90s, with iconic roles in “Awesome intentions”, “Legally Blonde” and “Hellboy. “ But over the years since he became mother and diagnosed with multiple sclerosisBlair has met another type of challenge: to take care of her skin.

After her son was born in 2011, Blair’s skin became more reactive. These inflating took a toll not only on her skin, but on her confidence. “The skin is what really was a huge red flag,” says Blair. “That’s what you show to people. I couldn’t work. I didn’t even want to try because I knew there was no way that they could cover what was happening on my skin. It takes their fee on your trust.”

Everything changed when a facialist handed into his own bag and handed over Blair and ESC soothing detergent ($ 42). “She said:“ Just use this. That moment not only calmed down her skin but changed her perspective. I could tolerate a facial treatment and do things to get my skin healthy again,” she says.

What started as a personal trial and wrong soon became a creative partnership. Blair wondered if it was possible to create a single formula that could repair the skin barrier, deliver anti-aging benefits and brilliant pigmentation-all without triggering irritation. “Much (my audience) is in the disabled society or has chronic illness, and it may not always leave a lot of extra money around for five products to use at night,” says Blair. “It was like, ok, how do we combine all things that I love so others can see results while they still do not become reactive?”

The result is Esk’s Ultimate a Gold ($ 100), a retina-based night cream that combines barrier repair ceramides and hyaluronic acid with five percent niacinamide, soft polyhydroxis acids and 4-n-butyl resorcinol (a powerful pigmentation fighter that can be used all year). “We have been using it for six months, and it caused such an improvement in my skin and hyperpigmentation,” says Blair. “Now people say it too, and I notice that it is easier to apply my makeup because I do not have so much gray underneath.”

Blair’s attitude to beauty today is refreshing realistic – a way of thinking that she has earned over time. “I see many articles in magazines about someone’s 16-step night routine, and it actually makes me cry,” she says with a laugh. “I have a job and I have children and I may want to sleep. We all love self -care, but not for an hour at night. The best you can do is sleep.”

For Blair, this launch is not just a celebrity beauty collaboration – it’s personal. “It gives me a lot of confidence to know that it is evening my skin, that it makes a difference,” she says. “I feel a real responsibility for being honest about what has worked for me and creating something simple and true.”
