Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco will release their first collaborative album, “I SAID I Love You First.” The new project will be released on March 21 via SMG Music/Friend Keep Secrets/Interscope Records.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the recently engaged couple also released the album’s first single, “afraid to love you.” The song, written by Gomez, Blanco and Finneas, contains Gomez who sings a love of love: “Because I’m not afraid to love you/I’m just afraid of losing you/I’m not afraid of anyone or die Young/or if You will find someone new/for how can they love you/as much as I do?
A positive guitar -driven ballad, “afraid to love you” is bound to a music video containing blanco and gomez that spends a relaxed morning in bed.
The album is said to “celebrate the couple’s love story, which gives the fans a unique window in their relationship”, per press release. The set is described as “a direct result of the comfort they both felt when working together creatively, so that they can produce art that authentically reflects their experiences. It chronicles the whole story – before they met, fell in love and looks at what the future holds. ”
Gomez has put a break on his music career in recent months to market Jacques Audiard-directed musical, “Emilia Perez.” As an actor and producer, Gomez has been recognized for his work on nomination of several Emmy, Sag and Golden Globe. She recently received her first BAFTA nomination for her role as Jessi del Monte in “Emilia Perez.”
