Patrick Wilson, Matthew Modine, Gracie Lawrence Headline ‘Karmic Knot’


The marriage project, the production company behind Latvian AUTEUR Signe Baumane‘S Annecy Jury Distinction winner “My Love Affair With Marriage”, has revealed key casting details for the award-winning filmmaker’s next feature, “Karmic knot. “

Written and directed by Baumane, whose former work “Rocks in My Tickets” and “My Love Affair with Marriage” has received critical tribute, “Karmic Knot” it tells the several generation history about a hard composed family striving to survive in the Soviet Occupied Latvia from the 1970s to the early 1990s. When the Soviet Union collapses, the family strives to rebuild their world, even more insular than before, while a member has ambitions that can change everything.

The film’s A-list is promising a cinematic experience that mixes Hollywood-Glamour with Broadway gloss. Patrick Wilsonknown for their roles in the “The Conjuring” series and “Lumvande.” Wilson will express the film’s protagonist, Ansis, a civil engineer who is determined to protect his family from Soviet occupied Latvia.

To go with Wilson is Dagmara DominczykCelebrated for their performances in “Success” and “The Lost Daughter.” Dominczyk Voices Vizma, a resilient wife and mother who navigate in the treacherous water in storage. Gracie Lawrence – The band’s singer Lawrence, who will make his Broadway debut this spring in Bobby Darin musical “Just in Time” – gives his voice to Ragne, the family’s youngest daughter.

Emma KenneyKnown for their roles in “The Conners” and “Shameless”, provides their expertise in complex family dynamics to the nature of Zinta, the ambitious older daughter who is facing an oppressive government. Stephen LangWhose intense performances in “Avatar” and “Don’t Breathe” have earned him the world over recognition, voices victories, Vizma’s father whose world looks at the painful wounds of his children.

Rounding the lead role is Matthew Modineknown for its leading presence in “Full Metal Jacket” and “Stranger Things.” Modine Voices Imants, Ansi’s older brother, whose loan of 10,000 rubles sets the story in motion. The film also contains thirty-eight top-New York and Latvian theater actors in supporting roles and add depth and authenticity to the project.

Lang, Dominczyk, Kenny and Modine all previously lent their votes to Baumane’s “My Love Affair with marriage.”

With a role that has a mix of experienced actors and new talent, “Karmic Knot” is prepared to imprison the audience with his convincing story and star performances. The film promises to be a gripping exploration of family, resilience and the human spirit, which is set in the light of a tumultuous historical period.
