Paramount Pictures and Hybe America has completed the role of their Upcoming K-Pop Musical DramaAdding nine stars to an already lively range.
Korean stars Sung Jun (“Ghost Mansion,” “The Villaness”), Kang Sora (“Strangers Again”, “Endless Rain”) and Hyongchol Lee (“XO, Kitty”) are among the actors who join the role, who have previously announced, “kpop demon jioung yoo (” Has previously announced stars Ji-Young Yoo (“KPOP Demon”), singer-songer Eric-Numer (“The Legends: The Last Airben” Yoo Ji-Tae (“Oldboy”), Tony Revolori (“Spider-Man”) and Gia Kim (“XO, Kitty”.
Nytt för rollen är också sångaren Ahin Lee, skådespelare och sångare Renata Vaca (“Mal de Amores,” “Midnight Family”), musiker-skådespelaren Silia Kapsis (som vid 17 år gjorde historia som den yngsta artisten i Eurovision 2024), Aliyah Turner (“Power Book III: Raising Kanan”), Shana Kim (“Love Me” och JyBi Park.

Benson Lee (“Seoul Searching”) will direct the film, which revolves around a young Korean American woman who defies the family’s wishes by competing in a television competition to find the next K-pop-girl group. Eileen Shim wrote the latest draft of the script after previous versions of “Crazy Rich Asians” writer Adele Lim, as well as Elyse Hollander and Lee.
The project, the first major American studio film that has been completely shot in South Korea, is currently in production and planned for release in theaters on February 12, 2027.
James Shin from Hybe America produces the film together with Arthur Spector and Joshua Davis from Epic Magazine and Scooter Braun. Executive producers include Joshuah Bearman from Epic Magazine, John Zaozirny and Scott Manson. Paramount’s Senior VP of Production Bryan Oh monitors the project on behalf of the studio.
The film has been in the works since 2020 and was originally established at the studios of the 1900s. Paramount’s former film group president Michael Ireland monitored the project during its development of 20th Century Fox and acquired the film in turn from Disney before leaving it to Paramount during the then studio manager Brian Robbins.
