The composers of “The Brutalist”, “Nosferatu”, “Sentimental Value” World Soundtrack AwardsOne of the most prestigious events for film music.
The nominations were among those who were announced on Thursday by Film Fest Gent and World Soundtrack Academy. The awards ceremony gives the glittering final to Film Fest Gent.
Last month, the disclosure of the nominees for a film component, TV composer and best original song looked. Now the nominees have been revealed to discover the year, Public Choice Award, Game Music Award and Belgian Film Composer of the Year.
Discovery of the Year Award recognizes new voices in film and screen music. Among the nominees, Daniel Blumbers, whose point for “The Brutalist” was already celebrated at this year’s Academy Awards and served him Oscar for best original points.
This marks his second nomination at this year’s World Soundtrack Awards after his previous nomination for this year’s film composer. The World Soundtrack Awards describes its point as “raw, texture and jazz -infected soundscapes.”
Robin Carolan, who composed the raging point for “nosferatu”, Robert Egger’s atmospheric remake of Silent-Era horror classics. “Based on industrial noise and hypnotic chore elements, Carolan produces an expressionist, tragic and eerie atmosphere,” said the World Soundtrack Awards.
Jung Jae-il, whose point for “parasite” and “octopus game” (which he was Emmy nominated) brought him international praise, nominated to “Mickey 17.” He continues his collaboration with director Bong Joon-Ho and offers “a classic and sensual musical palette, sometimes beautifully romantic with solo pianos and Grand Hollywood strings; sometimes unexpectedly playful and carnival.”
“A more lyrical and melodic strategy” comes from Dave Metzger, who composed the sweeping point for “Mufasa: The Lion King”, directed by Barry Jenkins. Metzger, a long -lasting partner about big Disney productions and an experienced orchestrator for Broadway, animation and video games, “honored and invented the musical heritage from ‘The Lion King’ by keeping its greatness and vulnerability near the edge.”
Rounding the list is Polish pianist, composer and singer Hania Rani, who gives “her signature mix of classic, experimental and electronics” to “sentimental value.” Rani is an up and upcoming name in the field and delivers a “boring and introspective point” for Joachim Trier’s family drama and captures the film’s themes about personal longing, memory, regret and the family’s reconciliation.
