Reservoir media has acquired Miles Davis Publication catalog, as well as rights to the late jazz icon’s recorded music and name and similarities, announced the company early Tuesday.
In front Miles Davis Centennial In 2026, reservoir joins in the yard, supervised by his daughter Cheryl Davis, his son Erin Davis, and his nephew and musical partner Vincent Wilburn Jr., together with general manager Darryl Porter and lawyer Jeff Biederman, to operate and cooperate on celebrations who remember the 100th anniversary. Centennial will include a variety of events, special programming, high -profile tributes and concerts, marketing collaborations and other parties curated by reservoir, Miles Davis Estate and various other partners.
Activations that will be launched next year and then include: A feature film entitled “Miles & Juliette” storytelling Davi’s love affair with Juliette Greco, developed in collaboration with the River Road Entertainment and Mick Jaggers Jagged Films; A live, international symphonic show, which pairs Davis iconic sounds with original orchestrations and cherished images, giving the audience an opportunity to experience their lasting inheritance in a whole new way; And a Meb (formerly Miles Electric Band) international tour including Miles Davis Centennial Celebration with four nights with special programming at SFJazz in March.
In recent years, reservoir has acquired rights to catalogs as Jazz Great Sonny Rollins and Tommy Boy Records, Which includes RAP-bumps de la soul among many other early hip-hop emissions. Its list includes the publication for such artists as Joni Mitchell, Snoop Dogg and KD Lang.
