Anthony Mackie Can now be MCU’s definitive superhero, but the actor wants to conquer another area: award season.
Told Mackie Esquire Like Mitt i Oscar Campaigns this year he must point to his service as Falcon and his character’s latest marketing to Captain America as his version of an Oscar.
“It’s always apropos for me when the award comes up,” said Mackie, “because I know I have made at least four performances that could have been nominated – if not for a Golden Globe, then an Oscar or Emmy. Captain America is my OscarBecause I have been overlooked so many times in my career. ”
Mackie, who has worked with Auth outside Marvel, said he is incredibly the only actor who has led “the two Spike Lee films that no one saw.” Mackie appeared in Lee’s “Sucker Free City” and “She Hate Me”, both of which were released in 2004.
“I always tell people that I have the title to be the lead for the two Spike Lee movies that no one saw,” he said.
Rather, Mackie focuses on his decade long MCU service instead. In the coming ”Captain America: Brave New World“Mackie does his Movie debut like Captain America; He officially took up the mantle in Captain America in the Disney+ series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” 2021.
“Expectations of what comes with this role is something no one is talking about,” Mackie said about playing Captain America now. “No one really recognizes the mental jousting that takes place. He continued, “It is a heavy weight to realize that people look up to you because how much of yourself do you allow these people to see? You must not be human. It’s one thing I can’t wrap my brain. What is that line? ”
Mackie annoyed that “Brave New World” is still a classic MCU payment, even though he started the next phase of the comic book’s adaptations.
“It’s literally the best movie it can be. It stays in Marvel, ”he said. “It stays in the lines in Captain America, and it’s fun and it’s big.”
And Mackie is ready to rest his stores on the franchise: “I give it a solid ten years,” he said about how much longer he will start in the movies. “You have the two Avengers films, you hopefully have another Captain America and then random plug-and-play: Oh, Spider-Man! Oh, Fantastic Four! What are you doing here? But you never know. I mean, I don’t want to be a sixty year old Captain America. ”
