Helen Hoehne was drawn out as president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association on Thursday, Thewrap has learned, as members aim to reverse the organization’s dissolution after its 2023 acquisition by the fire industries.
Hoehne, as president, saw HFPA through restructuring among allegations of misunderstanding and lack of diversity within its membership, was also thrown out of its board.
The vote, which passed 59-1 with two closed, was divided into a memo to the members of CEO Adam Tanswell on Thursday. With Hoehne’s removal from the HFPA Board of Directors are current members: Vera Anderson, Henry Arnaud, Tina Jønk Christensen, Barbara Gasser, Earl Gibson III, Sharlete Hambrick, Gabriel Lerman, Yuki Nakajima, Scott Orlin, BáRara de Oliveira and Kirpi.
The vote for removing Hoehne came days after the 60 remaining members of HFPA voted against the organization’s dissolution, according to the assignment of the 2023 acquisition by Todd Boehly’s Eldridge and Dick Clark Productions.
