“I thought, ‘I’m Heidi.’ I’m going to do a Heidi-themed lacquer dirndl-type thing,” she explained to the host. Jimmy Fallon. “But I had to do my own hair and makeup. I didn’t know anyone at the time who does special effects makeup.”
As a result, she admitted, “This is boring.”
But she definitely didn’t call it last year when she and Tokyo hotel guitarist husband Tom Kaulitz appeared dressed as the title character from the 1982 classic ET the alien.
“I loved being ET so much,” Klum said, but she admitted, “that was it so heavy to hold that head on my head because it goes from the back to the front. I thought my neck was going to snap.”
And heavy is the head that holds the queen of Halloween crown.
“There’s a lot to it because I wanted to be so spectacular that this is not something I can just throw together overnight,” she explained to People of the intensive process. “It takes a long time. It takes a lot of planning.”
And now that she has fans waiting for the big reveal, she’s pulling out all the tricks. “I don’t want to let anyone down,” she added, “so I always give it my all.”
