Keeping my hair healthy is a full time job. Depending on the day you can find me hair oilinguses heatless curl hacksand sleep on one pillow case in silk (probably with hood). Truth is, I’ve waxed poetic about my commitment to hair health for a while now, so it probably comes as no surprise that hair masks has also become a staple in my weekly routine.
When it comes to finding the right hair mask, I’m often like Goldilocks because I’m always looking for the product that’s “just right”. I have thin hairso I don’t like masks that are too thick and weigh my hair down, but I need them to be moisturizing enough to actually make a difference.
My current hyper fixation? The new one Gisou Honey Gloss Ceramide Therapy Hair Mask ($42). It’s brand new, and I was lucky enough to start testing it before it even launched.

What I like about Gisou Honey Gloss Ceramide Therapy Hair Mask
What I found most impressive about this mask was the difference it made in my hair after just one use. Every time I use it, my hair looks shiny and feels soft, which is always the goal. I love instant gratification (which is probably why I only shop at places with fast delivery), and this mask definitely scratched the itch. The consistency is on the thicker side, but just a tad more than my usual conditioner, which has made it super easy to work into my weekly hair care routine. It’s scented, but I’m obsessed with the smell, and it’s not too overpowering. If you’re familiar with Gisou products, you’ll recognize it – it’s a warm floral blend.
Also, I just have to mention the packaging. If you care in any way about an aesthetic bathroom, this product is absolute perfection. The mask is housed in an ombré yellow tub that looks like a honey pot. It’s so amazing I keep it front and center on my little bathroom shelf.
How to use Gisou Honey Gloss Ceramide Therapy Hair Mask
The brand recommends using this hair mask in two different ways. The first is in place of conditioner. After shampooing, squeeze excess water out of your hair and then apply the mask from mid to ends. Leave on for five to seven minutes and then rinse. If you’re looking for more hydration, you can apply the mask to dry hair and wear it overnight, then wash it out in the morning.
Personally, I like to use this mask in the shower instead of conditioner or whenever I have one treatment bun. For the latter, I apply to dry ends and pull the hair into a low, slick-back bun or clip. I usually wear it all day and wash it in the evening and then style my hair as usual.
What to consider before trying the Gisou Honey Gloss Ceramide Therapy Hair Mask
One thing to note is that this product has a strong scent. If you’re familiar with other Gisou products, you know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s yummy, but if you’re sensitive to fragrances in your beauty products, I recommend giving it a sniff before you buy, just to be safe. Personally, I’m a big fan — and I don’t think it takes too long once I’ve styled my hair.
