Prosecutor in Sean “Diddy” Comb’s federal trial has requested that the Mogul be given at least 11 years in prison before his judgment this Friday.
The government submitted a 164 -page memorandum late on Monday night, which began a recommended sentence of no less than 135 months in prison and wrote that Combs “will not be punished for any crimes he acquitted, of course, but punishment for his crime for conviction must take into account the manner in which he committed them.”
The notification also stated that a significant judgment is needed because Combs is “unexpected.” “Incredible, while the defendant admitted his acts of violence and abuse during the trial, he now claims that his victims should take the guilt,” reads the submission. “The defendant tries to rework decades of abuse that simply the function of mutual toxic relationships. But there is nothing mutual with a relationship where one person has all the power and the other ends bloody and the suggestions.”
Comb’s ex-girlfriend Cassandra Ventura, a key figure in the case, submitted a separate letter to Judge Arun Subramanian that “His punishment should reflect the reality of the evidence and my lived experience as a victim.” She wrote that she still has nightmares daily and has spent the last seven years of her life building herself.
“His defense lawyers claim that he is a changed man and he wants to mentor addicts,” she said. “I know from first and foremost what real mentoring means, and this disgust me; he is not truthful. I know who he was for me-manipulator, aggressor, the addict, the human trader-is the one he is as a human.
Last week, lawyers argued for Combs in a letter that he would not serve more than 14 months in prison for his accusations, claiming he was punished enough. “Mr. Combs must be convicted of what the jury convicted him of – interstate transport of fully consented adults with the intention of getting involved in prostitution,” wrote Comb’s lawyers. “But it would be illegal and a perversion of justice, for the court to judge him as if the jury had sentenced him for sex trafficking and Rico, or to increase his punishment based on the court’s own results on violence or coercion or racetetration.”
In addition to support letter from Comb’s former girlfriend Yung Miami and producer Dallas Austin, lawyers submitted an additional letter from prisoners who had taken Comb’s “free game” course, with several who claim that the class gave them “purpose” and “changed (their) opinions about life.”
In July, the Mogul was found guilty on two bills of transport for prostitution but avoided more serious accusations of sex trafficking and extracts. Prosecutors previously recommended that he serve four to five years in prison, including the 11 months he has already spent behind bars.
Following his conviction, Combs was then denied a $ 50 million guarantee. The judge said it would be “impossible” for Combs to prove that he would not pose a danger to others if he was released against the bail and quoted his pattern of violence to which his own lawyers referred during the trial. He has been in custody since September 2024 and will remain in prison until he sentenced on October 3.
Comb’s lawyers had argued that Mann Act, the Charter according to which he was convicted, has historically been applied to Hallik or sexual crimes involving minors. They claimed that male escorts agreed to make “amateur porn” and did not get involved in prostitution.
