Aimee Lou Wood, Patrick Schwarzenegger about what White Lotus taught them


Aimee Lou Wood and Patrick Schwarzenegger Hardly won what they were in when they moved to Thailand for seven months to film “The White Lotus” season 3.

Long -term actors who had not yet had their big Hollywood break, they sat for the new season of Thewrap’s Visionary video series and reflected on their nervous early days on the Mike White-led set and how the whole role worked and grew together on the road.

Their origin could not be more different. Schwarzenegger grew up on the rich western side of Los Angeles, son of the world’s most famous Arnold, while Wood grew up in a village in Greater Manchester, England. But the two found a love for acting – and especially theater – early, an insight that tied them during the first days of filming.

“This is what I love so much because I remember during the first week of filming, you told me that you are still going to (theater) classes, and I just thought it was so-it was so I knew you were a virgin,” who trained on London’s famous Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, told the 31-year-old actor. “But I thought it was so wonderful because you are that person, you are just a lifelong student.”

Wood and Schwarzenegger’s “White Lotus” characters, the liberal Chelsea and Finance Bro Saxon, are not so quickly charmed by each other. Saxon is a tasty “douche”, to use Wood’s descriptor, who is more interested in opening sex partners on his family vacation than creating a real connection. But he is being drawn to Chelsea, especially because she is unclear of macho discoveries that would usually get him a connection.

“As soon as you have someone to act, you really start to work out the dynamics. Schwarzenegger admitted that he never thought white when they were sure that the audience would eventually come around in Saxon – “I don’t think so, man!” – But agreed that the creator and director’s small notes (which “be a little more attractive”) were integrated into the final performances caught on the screen. He described the actor process with the series’s ensemble role as a “boiling pot” by artists who learned.

“It’s like everyone just shows up and you just bring what you want to bring and then Mike comes in and nice tunes it and is very specific with what he is looking for,” said Schwarzenegger. “Type of all is in this boat, uncertain, and then you just get to work. It was such a fascinating process.”

He also appreciated that he was one of the artists who used to be in his career and mixed in with film and TV veterans such as Walton Goggins, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey and Jason Isaacs, the latter played their parents on the screen, Victoria and Timothy Ratliff.

“(White) does a good job of mixing these Hollywood tongues with Walton and Carrie (Coon) and Leslie (Bibb) and Michelle, with people who have not” had their break “yet – I do not know what the right wording is,” said the actor. “But he gives an opportunity for newer people to shine, which I felt very happy with. It is this cool mix of different types of actors gathering.”

“There is no hierarchy there,” recognized Wood. “And that was what was so good because it also allowed me to be the opposite Walton to go,” It’s Rick. “I didn’t have that whole,” It’s Walton Goggins, Hello Sir. “

Overall, the co -stars agreed that “The White Lotus” gave them something eternal and special.

“The whole process is unlike something else I have ever done,” Schwarzenegger said.
