When the Broadway star Aaron Lazar Cast for a guest place in the Amazon MGM series “Countdown” he did not expect to bind with the star Eric Dane in the way they did.
“When I met Eric and he shook my hand, I could see and feel that something was suspended,” Lazar tells me. “I asked him what was happening. Eric told me:” I think I have what you have. “
Lazar was diagnosed with ALS 2022. When Lazar filmed “Countdown” it was months before Dane became public with his diagnosis.
“I was in a wheelchair and I was so nervous that they couldn’t dress in my suits,” Lazar said, referring to his “Countdown” Wardrobe to play a governor. “But it turns out that they knew exactly what they would do because they had already worked with Eric and what he had gone through.”
Ever since Lazar revealed that he lived with the disease, he has made it his mission to educate and inspire – not just about ALS, but some kind of challenge that someone might face. He went on a year -long talking tour and received a Grammy nomination in 2024 for his debut album “Impossible Dream”, which contains a “We Are the World” -like reproduction of “The Impossible Dream” from “Man of La Mancha” with Sting, Lin Manuel Miranda, Josh Grobana, Josh Grobana, Josh Grobana. Outs, Lin Miranda, Josh Groban, Liz Callaway, Neil Patrick Harris, Leslie Outs, Lin, Adrien, Adr Warne, Norme, Norme, the norm, the norm Lewis and more.
He follows up his music success with “Impossible Dreams”, a new Videopodcast series presented by the ALS network, which premieres Tuesday 7 October. Confirmed the guests include Mark Cuban, Ben Stiller.
“For me, the podcast is a collection of stories that remind us of our own power,” says Lazar. “If people go away from a section that feels more hopeful, more awake for what is possible in their own lives, I fulfill my mission. Our mantra is: Live your impossible dreams. My hope is that the podcast helps people to do so.”
Lazar’s dream guest is Jim Carrey.
“Jim Carrey embodies the heart into what” impossible dreams “is about – transformation,” says Lazar. “He is an extraordinary soul who has consciously collected his life. He has reached the height of success and turned inward to explore meaning, consciousness and what really means. I think his journey reflects mine in certain ways and our conversation would remind people that joy and awakening can be coexisted.”
Although there is no cure for ALS, Lazar remains optimistic when it comes to the future. “I have read more than 100 books in recent years on the healing and nervous system and have implemented much of that wisdom in practice. I have learned that with courage, hope becomes faith and faith when it is practiced becomes faith and faith when practiced becomes to know,” says Lazar, who is the father of two teenage boys with his ex-wife. “What started as a seed of hope from the inside has been grown through a disciplined practice for a way of life. I continue to draw inspiration from books, but mainly draw inspiration from helping other people find inspiration. I suppose it is an inspiration, to have an impact on someone else’s life is an honor that deeply inspires me.”
