Fountains in Wayne Will perform the concert date this year for the first time since 2013, and the show continues with the blessings from the family to the band’s co -founder, the late Adam SchlesingerAccording to reps for the group.
Plans for a reunited iteration of Fountain of Wayne to do at least two festivals in 2025, and probably more, was revealed on Thursday. Chris Collingwoodwho shared songwriting tasks in Fow with Schlesinger and handled all the main songs, will be back as Frontman for the new dates after 12 years of rest for the group, which split long before Schlesinger’s death in 2020.
Most fountains fans eagerly took the news, although some wondered if Schlesinger’s family was pleased with a reunion that took place in the absence of its co -leaders. According to the band representatives, the family is really down with Schlesinger’s rich catalog of fountains that have been developed for public performance again with those stuck by Collingwood.
Only two shows have been announced so far: a gig July 4 at Milwaukee’s Summer Party, followed by one at Ocean City, Maryland’s oceans who call the festival on September 26.
Two dates may seem like a modest reunion tour, but an announcement said that the band members “are now prepared to return finally, giving their singalong cows, technician harmonies and ringing tunes to steps over America and then.” Sources near the reconstituted group say that no tournament message is imminent, but that Collingwood and the other members are really considering other opportunities to perform this year.
This assortment of Fountain of Wayne finds Collingwood united by two pillars in the group, leading guitarist Jody Porter and drummer Brian Young, plus their tournament stop Steven M. Gold and a new military service, bassist Max Collins (by Eve 6).
Since the group members went separate roads after doing their last live -show in 2013, it had only been an official fountains of Wayne performance -a live streamed “hackensack”, solemnly made as part of a Jersey 4 -Jersey advantage at the height of Lockdown in 2020, as a tribute to Schlesinger, with Sharon van Enen who filled the missing members’ shoes on bass.
Fountain of Wayne released five original studio bums during the band’s lifetime, and started with 1996’s named debut and ended with the 2011’s “Sky Full of Holes.” Collingwood and Schlesinger wrote their songs almost completely separately from the beginning of the group’s career, even though they were co -prescribed on all the material, A la Lennon and McCartney. The two band leaders were open in their interviews about creative differences, especially on the group’s two most recent albums. But for fans, it felt like having two such creative talents that both loaned as strong songs as a welcome rarity and a bonanza.
Schlesinger died of complications from Covid on April 1, 2020. He wrote some of Fow’s most famous songs, including their Breakout -Hit “Stacy’s Mom.”
Some of the more popular songs that Collingwood has taken for the band, meanwhile, include “Valley Winter Song”, “Radiation Vibe”, “Leave the cyclist” Dragon Tattoo “and” A nice day for a parade. “
