Autumn has officially begun – at least according to Kourtney Kardashian’s hair. Reality Star and Lemme founder started what she calls “Witchy Season” in a Moody Mirror Selfie on Instagram on September 20, debuting a new set of one of this year’s most popular hair trends: “Birkin ‘beats. The cut feels simple cool and a little mysterious, which gives her look an immediate edge that feels perfect for this time of year.

Named after the 60s style icon Jane Birkin is defined the fringe by its slightly uneven, piece consistency and flattering, eyebrow-grazing length. “Getting bangs, especially Birkin Bangs, is a great way to change your appearance immediately,” Hairdresser Devin Toth from Salon SCK tells PS. “They shorten your face. This simple, airy quality is what makes Luggerna so versatile – you can wear them with long layers like Kardashian, or work them in a shag or a straight, elegant style.

Toth adds that Kardashian’s bangs work so well because they are cut a little longer on the sides, which “basically frames and rounding the upper corners of the face instead of revealing that area. The effect is a softer appearance instead of an even more angular look.”

Birkin Bangs has been discovered everywhere this year, and Hollywood can’t get enough them. Dakota Johnson have made the witty fringe of its signature, not to mention ZedayaThe Megan Fox, And even Gigi Hadid has gone out with the style. Kardashian’s fresh cut proves that the puffs are still strong, and that they work for everything from the red carpet glam to relaxed mirror selfies.

If Kardashian’s photo has considered a notch, the good news is that Birkin Bangs are as simple to style as they are to wear. Prepare damp hair with Giovanni frizz is gone anti-freeze hair serum ($ 26) or Moroccanoil Intense Sloothing Serum ($ 32) to keep them elegant. Blue-dry forward with a round brush, then make a quick pass with a flat iron, as Jose Eber Petite Flat Iron ($ 45) or Drybar’s The Tress Press Digital Styling Iron ($ 169) for a soft finish. Lock in everything with a styling spray, as Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Heat Styling Spray ($ 34) or Manes Cotton Candy Dry Treature & Hair Volume Spray ($ 26) and updated on day two with dry shampoo as IGK’s Jet Team Weightless Dry Shampoo ($ 34) or Lololavie powder perfect dry shampoo ($ 25) to keep them light and airy.
