Veteran political journalist Alex WagnerMSNBC contributor whose Primetime Show in the network was canceled earlier this yearlaunching a new podcast with Crooked media.
Crooked Media, the politically progressive media company, says Wagner’s show as “a new politics in America”, who will see her travel across the country to talk to “everyday people” – from Trump Diehards to those in democratic resistance – about how the Trump administration and its politics affect their lives. Weekly Interview Podcast will also contain analysis from journalists (including college journalists), organizers and thinkers to provide contexts on the effects of MAGA policy and promises.
The Wagner Crooked Media Show (currently Untitled) will premiere October 23, available over all major podcast platforms. The weekly code cast will be about 45-60 minutes long. The episodes will be available in video formats and Crooked plan to highlight divisible videos.
In addition, Wagner will join Crooked Media’s flagship ”Pod Save America“As the show’s first contributor ever with co-hosts Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Tommy Vietor and Dan Pfeiffer. In February 2025, Msnbc cut “Alex Wagner tonight” from its scheduletogether with Joy Reid’s “The Reidout.” Wagner has remained a contributor to MSNBC as a senior political analyst.
Wagner had Returned MSNBC 2022 After hosting daytime show “Now with Alex Wagner” between 2011-15 at MSNBC as part of the network’s movement to present more programming with a progressive lens. Between Stints at MSNBC, Wagner was a medical on the Saturday broadcast of “CBS This Morning” and was co-host and executive producer of Showtime “The Circus.”
From 2007-09, Wagner was the CEO of Not on Our Watch, an advocate and non-profit non-profit organizations with the goal of stopping and preventing lots of atrocities founded by George Clooney, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt and Don Cheadle. From 2004-07, she was editor of Father Magazine who covered music and culture and before it served as a cultural correspondent for Washington, DC-based Think Tank Center for American Progress.
She was also a reporter at the Huffington Post, where she covered innovation in the American economy and was the White House correspondent for politics daily. Wagner holds a bachelor’s degree from Brown University.
