Three -quarters of Nirvana reunites at Fireaid with Joan Jett, Kim Gordon

Fans in the intuit dome and wondered what hit them may be too late that they witnessed the closest to one Nirvana Reunion We get: the band’s three surviving members – Christ Novoselic, Dave Grohl And Pat Smear – Flaming through bruises versions of “race” with St. Vincent on vocals, “school” with long -lasting friend and protector Kim Gordon and “Territorial Pissings” with Joan Jett, everyone fills the leading vocal place led by Kurt Cobain’s death almost 31 years ago. Every singer brought whole gravel out of his voices while he channeled Cobain, but especially St. Vincent showed a rare violence.

For the last track, Grohl’s daughter took the Violet microphone for a much more chill song – a version of “All Apologies”, the beautiful complaint that closes the band’s third and final studio album, “in utero.”

In many ways it was a kind of family reunification – Gordon and her former band, Sonic Youth, played a huge role in Nirvana’s rise, brought them on tour and paved the way for the record agreement that led them to superstardrdom – and too long fans, the view of Novoselic, Grohl and batter that played these songs again were deeply emotionally.

The set was actually a repetition of the four-song showcase that the surviving members-and most of the above singers-played at the band’s induction in the Rock and Roll of Fame 2014, although Lorde appeared there instead of Violet Grohl. After the evening’s long ceremony (ended after 1 AM), friends judged and associated with the band for an ultra -seat blasting through even more songs from Nirvana Canon with all tonight’s singers.
