After nearly six hours CelebrationThe Lady Gaga Finished the historic Los Angeles event by debuting a new song together with her hubby Michael Polansky, an optimistic number that she said was “Just for Tonight.”
Gaga held the theater to a minimum after a night stacked with spectacle, left behind the piano with a support band for the show. She started with “shallow”, her hit from her movie 2018 “A Star Is Born”, and took a moment to address the audience and explain how despite the devastation in Los Angeles, created a moment of unit.
“Thanks, I love you,” she said. “This has been a horrible, scary time, but during these times I feel that people come together and we see how much we need each other. And I always want to remember us just like this. ”
After a piano rendering of “Always remember us in this way”, she introduced the new song – potentially entitled “All I Need is Time” or “Time is a Healer” – by explaining that she wrote it specifically for Fireaid With Polansky. “When I thought about what to sing tonight, I thought I would do something hopeful for you, and I thought about my songs and nothing seemed just right,” she said. “So me and my friend Michael, my fiancé, my love, we wrote this song for you. It’s just for tonight, it’s just for you. I think we all need many things right now, but I think something we may also need is time. Time is a healer. ”
What followed was a bouncing melody with an uplifting message. “Wish that God would find another way to remind me what it is like to pray / wish I could turn this storm and I can’t find another way,” she sings leaders to the choir. “All I need is time, all I need is time / all I need is time to heal my broken wings and then I will float / all I need is time to leave everything behind / all I need is time to leave everything behind and Keep going on. “
Gaga is about to release his new album “Mayhem”, out on March 7. On Fireaid, she ended an evening that contained a run of performances from Sting, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Wonder, Billie Eilish, Peso Pluma and Olivia Rodrigo. Other artists who adorned the scenes at Intuit Dome and Kia Forum included Green Day, no doubt, Graham Nash, Dawes and more.
Fireaid favored relief efforts for those affected by the Los Angeles fire fires, which burned through much of Pacific Palisades, Altadena and Malibu. Revenue went to the initiative via the Annenberg Foundation.
