There’s only one lingering question that comes to mind post-Taylor Swift’s many appearances (whether ERAS tours or NFL-related) and it’s about her red lipstick. Google searches for the exact shade she’s wearing reportedly jumped 669 percent after she was first spotted at the Kansas City Chiefs game at the start of the 2023 season — and fan tweets are alive and well, from “not me wearing red lipstick again” to “Taylor if you don’t drop a red lipstick in my lifetime will never forgive you” – which can only confirm one thing: the people want answers.

It’s a happy coincidence that the Chiefs’ signature color is red, providing quick opportunities to wear the bold shade while hanging out in a box with Kelce’s mom, just like she did for the AFC Championship on January 26, 2025 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. When the Chiefs head to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans against the Philadelphia Eagles, we’re pretty sure she’ll be rocking her signature red lip.

The more complicated reality is that Swift has been wearing red lipstick since the moment she hit the music scene —the one constant in this ever-changing world, if you will—which means she’s had a number of favorites on rotation over the years. There is Mac Ruby Woo ($23), the classic shade she confirmed she loved to People in 2015. There’s also Nars Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl ($30), which has been a staple of the star for years.

These days, according to her latest makeup artist, the one and only Pat McGraththe star has berries on Liquid legendary wear matte lipstick ($34) in the Elson 4 from McGrath’s eponymous brand, Pat McGrath Labs. The Formula is also editor-approved And promises to be dirt-proof, which, if you’ve watched video footage of that “Tayvis” kiss in Argentina on repeat (and let’s be real: Who isn’t you?) you know this fact is paramount.

She has also played sports Mattetrance lipstick in Elson ($39) and our editor tested the brand Dramatique Mega Lip Pencil in Elson 6 ($29), which is a similar option with a bold color payoff and a smooth texture. You can read more this spring Editor’s review of Dramatique Mega Lip Pencil – We also considered the best lipstick of 2024 this spring Annual Beauty Awards. While these specific shades from Pat McGrath Labs are currently out of stock, you can fake a similar look with Estée Lauder’s Pure Color Explicit Silk Matte Lipstick ($42) in heartbeats and Smashbox is always on matte liquid lipstick ($27) in bondage.

Otherwise, formerly Swift’s longtime makeup artist Lorrie Turk has also shared a handful of red lipstick favorites that can be a good indicator of what she wears on a regular basis, including, but not limited to: Patrick take major beauty headlines lipstick ($32) In That’s Why She’s Late, Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Color ($ 29) in uncensored, and Lisa eldridge true velvet lipstick ($36) in velvet ribbon.

As with most things the singer touches, there’s also been plenty of online fodder and fan speculation about her lipstick choice being a nod to her best friend Selena Gomez’s beauty line, Rare Beauty. The punchy, cool-toned red and matte finish on Rare beauty lip soufflé matte cream lipstick ($20) in Inspire looks like it could Was a spot-on match, so it’s certainly a contender.

Only time will tell which of the above lipsticks were worn during her date nights with Sophie Turner And, ahem, others. In the meantime, we’ll be sipping ours Caramel Nonfat Latte from Starbucks In a black turtleneck waits patiently.
