Taylor Swift shares how she’s lending a helping hand amid the devastating LA wildfires, and she’s encouraging her supporters to do the same.
In a post shared to her Instagram story on Thursday afternoon, Swift wrote: “The fires in California have devastated so many families, and it has been heartbreaking to watch these stories unfold. So much suffering, loss and destruction.”
“As so many people enter some of the most challenging times in their lives, there are also many amazing organizations and groups coming together to help these communities rebuild,” she continued. “These are the organizations I have donated to. If you feel compelled or able to donate, please do.”
Swift’s list of organizations includes 211 LA, California Community Foundation Fund, Direct Relief, Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation, Habitat For Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Los Angeles Unified School District Education Foundation Emergency Relief Fund, MusiCares and the Pasadena Educational Foundation Eaton Fire Response Fund.
Swift joins a growing chorus of celebrities donating to the relief effort, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Paris Hilton, Jamie Lee Curtis and Eva Longoria. Lady Gaga, Joni Mitchell, Katy Perry, Stevie Nicks, Sting, Billie Eilish and Finneas, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and more will play FireAid benefit concerts on January 30 at the Inuit Dome and Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
Over 15,000 acres have burned in Pacific Palisades and Malibu, while the Eaton fire in Altadena burned more than 10,000 acres. The estimated cost of damage to Los Angeles from the fires is estimated at $250 billion and rising.
